How To Setup L2TP on MacOS

Access System Preferences

  1. Click on the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen and select "System Preferences."

Network Settings

  1. Click on "Network."

Add VPN Configuration

  1. In the bottom-left corner of the window, click on the "+" symbol to add a new network connection.

Interface and VPN Type

  1. From the drop-down menu that appears, select "VPN" for the interface and "L2TP over IPSec" for the VPN Type. Then click on "Create."

Server Address and Account Name

  1. In the configuration window that appears, fill in the following details:
  2. Server Address: Login to the VPN panel at https://www.worldvpn.net/client/login using your VPN username and password to obtain your server address.
  3. Account Name: Your VPN username

Authentication Settings

  1. Click on the "Authentication Settings" button.
  2. Ensure "Password" is selected.
  3. Input your VPN account password.
  4. For the Shared Secret, enter: worldvpn
  5. Click "OK" to save the settings.

Advanced Settings (Optional)

  1. You can click on the "Advanced" button and configure additional settings if necessary, such as DNS servers or proxy configurations. Otherwise, leave this section as default.

Apply Settings

  1. Click "Apply" to save your settings.

Connect to the VPN

  1. To establish the connection, click on the VPN icon in the menu bar (it looks like a small "V"). Then select the VPN configuration you just created and click "Connect." You'll be prompted to enter your VPN account password if it's not saved.

Verification

  1. Once connected, check your IP address to ensure you're browsing through the VPN server.
