How To Setup L2TP on Windows

Access VPN Settings

  1. Click on the Start menu and select "Settings" (gear icon).
  2. Go to "Network & Internet."
  3. Click on "VPN" in the left sidebar.

Add VPN Connection

  1. Click on "Add a VPN connection."

Configure VPN Details

  1. VPN provider: Select "Windows (built-in)."
  2. Connection name: Enter a name, e.g., "WorldVPN L2TP".
  3. Server name or address: Login to the VPN panel at https://www.worldvpn.net/client/login using your VPN username and password to obtain your server address.
  4. VPN type: Select "L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key".
  5. Type of sign-in info: Select "Username and password".
  6. Username: Your VPN username.
  7. Password: Your VPN account password.

Save and Configure Shared Secret

  1. Click "Save" to add the VPN connection.
  2. To set the shared secret, go back to the VPN settings page and click on your newly created VPN connection.
  3. Click "Advanced options."
  4. Under "Pre-shared key for L2TP," enter: worldvpn
  5. Click "Save."

Connect to the VPN

  1. Return to the VPN settings and click "Connect" next to your VPN connection.

Verification

  1. Once connected, check your IP address by visiting a site like whatismyipaddress.com to ensure you're browsing through the VPN server.
